Growing up I was fascinated by and even idolized the big screen “strongmen” and body builders of my generation. By the age of 13 I began training with weights after receiving a weight set for Christmas from my father. My knowledge of weight training and fitness expanded during my High School years as I dedicated more time to my training.
After graduation I began my career in personal training at Gold’s Gym. I continued to study the teachings of Masters in the field such as JC Santana and Grey Cook. I then received certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine and the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. From 2006-2013 I was a part of a nationally recognized fitness facility with over 20,000 lifetime sessions. I have experience in training clients/members of all levels and backgrounds. Such as TV celebrities, athletes, obstacle event training and people brand new to fitness. In 2010 I was 1 of 16 trainers picked from 1000+ personal trainers to train the NBC Training Team for Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
During those 15 years I experimented with different program designs and learned to master the basic fundamentals that molded my own vision of fitness; movement based exercise. Utilizing, almost exclusively moment based exercises I have watched my clients/members develop and achieve their fitness goals. It was with these personal experiences and being a part of countless people’s evolution into healthy living that I confirmed my unique style of movement training. I persued this philosophy of movement based exercises as I opened my own fitness center, Move Fitness.
I have many loves in my life of which include my wife, my children, my family and also my love to see my clients better themselves. When I see my members achieve fitness milestones and goals they never thought possible I know I am doing exactly what I am supposed to be doing.
Currently I am working with the US Marine Corp offering a Preparation program at Move Fitness. Its an exciting time watching my dreams come to shape.

I learned early on that hard work and discipline were the staple of any successful discipline, whether it be in the arena of athletics, business, or approach to life. I studied bodybuilding champions such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mike Mentzer since my early years competing on stage. I studied great leaders in the field of performance enhancement since the start of my career such as Juan Carlos Santana, Michael Boyle, and Grey Cook. When I began the Exercise Physiology Program at Florida Atlantic University I was lucky enough to be mentored by Dr. Patrick Jacobs, one of the most reknown strength coaches and Specialists for the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. When I began my training career in 2008 I was also fortunate enough to commence my most important mentorship under one of the most passionate and innovative strength coaches I know, Jared Bolen. My training in the Marine Corps exposed me to all kinds of mentors, experts in leadership and unrelenting need for mission accomplishment. All of these men have those two principles that I find to be so essential but so rare in our world, hard work and discipline.
My knowledge and methodology are centered around these great mentors, my experience as an athlete, the leadership principles I live by, and my love for the inner workings of the body which determine why we train in the ways we do, and how to avoid making the mistakes that lead to injury and dysfunction that gives the exercise industry a bad name.
After training over three thousand sessions and encountering clients who suffered from lifes daily attacks, my mission has only become more clear – provide function to improves lifestyle, alleviate pain, and train my clients to perform better and live better. From sedentary desk jobs, to lack of exercise, and poor means of nutrition, life provides a battle that we cant afford to lose, fighting back is necessary, being aware is crucial, our goal is to combat life together. Meet T.C.- My introduction to health and fitness began 12 years ago with the birth of my first son. I did not recognize the person staring back at me in the mirror. Who the heck was that? To my naïve dismay I did not magically bounce right back into my skinny jeans! And so the journey began. Like any young mother who had never worked out before I started doing cardio. Some weight came off but I was still very frustrated. My body looked and felt so different and not in a good way. Then I started a resistance program and whamo! My body started changing in ways I had never seen before. Not only did I fit into my skinny jeans, but I looked even better than before I had children. I became certified in group fitness and taught many classes from strength formats to Turbo Kick Boxing and Insanity. I wanted more! I wanted that one on one personal journey with someone and that’s when I became a certified personal trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). I also hold a certification with NASM as a Women’s Fitness Specialist. It is my greatest passion to see clients come to me with so many desires and goals, skeptical if they can achieve who they really want to become. Week by week watching them grow in confidence, self worth and true happiness is incredible! And they accomplish those goals! My clients learn the importance of flexibility and SMR to structured resistance programs, cardiovascular programs and nutrition. The excitement and joy I feel as they learn is incredible. And then guess what? They start sharing that knowledge with their families, friends and co-workers. It’s then that I know I’m doing my job. It’s all a journey. You must trust the process and yourself. There is so many aspects of life that we cannot control. You can, however, control how you treat your body and how you chose to nourish it. My motto is simple: change your body, change your life.
If achieving your goal is important, you’ll find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse. I started my fitness journey at the age of 14. At the time I lived in New Jersey. All I had was one set of dumbbells and a Fitness magazine. The only workouts I knew how to do were bicep curls, overhead press and chest press. So I kept it at that, incomplete. I was wondering why I was not getting any bigger. I did not have a workout plan and would do the same basic workouts day after day and barely gave my body any time to recover. Also, I did not know the proper form for the workouts so I was not even doing it the right way.
A year or so later, I received a bench press as a gift. I now was able to lift heavier. My skills were also improving and so was my knowledge of nutrition. I was starting to see results. I also received a punching bag, but I was the one getting beat up! I would get winded after just a few minutes and would constantly hurt my hands and wrists because I did not wear gloves or hand wraps. I then took my training to another level. I started training Brazilian jiu jitsu(BJJ). I learned a lot about the art as well as different body weight workouts that could be done on my own. BJJ also improved my endurance. From BJJ, I branched off to train Muay Thai kickboxing. Here I learned proper striking techniques, coordination, how to wrap my hands the proper way so and much more.
I then began training in the Israeli reality fighting/self defense system, Haganah F.I.G.H.T. This system was created by my instructor, Mike Lee Kanarek. I fell in love with Haganah and when I moved to Florida I began training at the national headquarters. While training at headquarters, I began combat fitness. Combat fitness is a fitness system with a military like attitude about training. Combat fitness uses circuits that focus on endurance, functional strength and fighting skills. When I found Move fitness, I was happy to see that many of the principals are the same as far as functional training. I help people achieve their goals while building their confidence. I work with all age groups and different walks of life in group settings and one-on-one, from young children, to adults. I teach basic fundamentals of martial arts all the way up to advanced techniques currently taught to the military. Visit www.facebook.com/FJLbootcamp for more info.

A middle school teacher for 8 years, co-owner of RedWire Fitness, and NCCPT Certified Personal Trainer I have worked within the fitness community for the last 5 years. As a kid I was very active. However, poor life choices as a teenager led to me being in a less than desirable position later in life. In my twenties I found myself struggling financially, depressed, and overweight. The birth of my first son led to a desire to create positive changes in my life. A new outlook on life companied with a strong commitment to fitness would forever change my life. I made a choice to not use my failures as excuses and instead used my own personal struggles as a vehicle to motivate others to overcome the their own adversities and life challenges. Since 2009, I have helped my clients to not only make great physical changes to their bodies, but have also nurtured within them a positive mindset that promotes the development of self-respect, self-confidence, commitment, and achievement. Through RedWire, I have taken part in a number of community initiatives, youth programs, and coaching positions to better serve my community in promoting healthy living for kids and adults alike. It is my belief that every person has within them a gift to share with the world. It has become my goal in life to help others recognize and use their gifts. I am proud to join the Move team in further helping others to reach out and achieve their goals.
